This section describes the primary objects implemented by the EROS system. Most objects and services, including programs, are constructed out of primary objects.

Primary objects are those objects that are represented as Nodes and pages. These objects are stateful, and are directly implemented by the EROS kernel. Their content is saved to the disk by the checkpoint mechanism.

In addition, this section includes a description of the number object, an object whose entire state is contained within the key itself.

Each object type has a dedicated reference page:

Process
Node
Number
Page
SchedClass
Address Space

Primary objects are rescindable; the space bank carries sufficient authority to invalidate existing primary object keys.
