There's a new release of the Petname Toolbar at:

http://www.waterken.com/user/PetnameToolbar/

The main change is storing each petname as a bookmark, instead of a
config setting. This provides several advantages:

1. A petname is now bidirectional, as a petname should be.
2. The user can list all issued petnames simply by viewing the bookmark
menu.
3. The bookmark manager can be used to manage petnames. This provides
several cool features, such as recording the time the petname was
created, last modified and last used.

Thanks to Marc Stiegler for pointing the design in this direction.

There is also one small GUI change. The petname tool now turns light
green while displaying a petname. The intent is to provide a stronger
visual cue of the applicable trust relationship. Thanks to Alan and
Bret for this suggestion.

Unfortunately, I suspect this version of the Petname Toolbar will
require you to upgrade to Firefox version 1.0.1. The API for managing
bookmarks changed between version 1.0 and 1.0.1. The Petname Toolbar is
written to the current API. Also, your existing petnames will again be
broken, since they are not being stored in the Firefox registry
anymore. Hopefully we're getting close to a final resting place and
format for the petname database.

I look forward to your feedback.

Tyler
