I didn't know that. Which systems did he work on? Any papers?
Partially answering my own question, I could find references to
"Implementing Capability Based Protection Using Encryption,"
D. Chaum and R.S. Fabry, UC Berkeley Memorandum UCB/ERL M78/46,
July 1978.
