I would go ahead and do a fetch -- the push occurred about noon today.
No point putting effort into a build where if something goes wrong you
are going to need to immediately pull the latest anyway.
I'm unclear what you are trying to get working on qemu. We routinely
build on Fedora-based linux, we have some users building on various
Debian-based distros. Our common practice for test cases is to build an
image file from mkimage and a kernel and then run them under qemu.
You can download my coyqemu.sh script from www.coyotos.org/~shap/
As you will see, it is a thin wrapper around a script that is already in
the tree. The expected argument is an output file from mkimage. These
are typically called mkimage.out. Check any of the makefiles under
base/test/xxx/ to see how that works. Be aware that there are horrible
dependency deficiencies in the test makefiles.
