There's a new-ish W3C security group [1] who're trying
to figure out what might be better that a lock icon in
a browser, or, more generally, how to better present
security context information to "web" users.

The group's 1st public document is out now [2] and
feedback is welcome (there's an address for that in
the doc itself).
