The reverse, security has been harmed by Moore's law
improvements. The more software does, the less the
person one whose behalf that software is supposedly
running can know what it does.
The big design issue used to be providing the network
owner security from users. This is no longer very
interesting, since networks commonly have a single user,
or a small number of trusted users. Rather, we now face
the problem of providing the user security from his
software.
