Linden Labs (makers of Second Life) is working on an open architecture
for the interconnection of virtual worlds.

According to the proposed architecture
http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Proposed_Architecture
"The architecture will be based on REST."
and
"Capabilities will be used".
More details about their use of "capabilities" are available here:
http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Capabilities
Unfortunately, I couldn't make much sense of the above and don't yet
have time to look into it more deeply.
I'm hoping someone with good Web-Calculus knowledge (which, from what I
understand is a REST-based Capability implementation) can shed some more
light on what they're trying to do and how it compares to the
Web-Calculus.
Is it worth someone trying to influence the architecture, which is
supposed to be being developed in the open, to take a more Web-Calculus
like approach, if it isn't already?
Cheers
Toby
