Only in scattered notes and web pages here and there. The only book
length treatments are Henry Levy's book, various theses (mine, Fred's,
Shap's, Martin's), and MarcS' "E in a Walnut". None of these are
really right for a general audience. E in a Walnut may be closest, but
is couched in terms of a novel language (as is my thesis), and so has
less than 1% of the audience it should.

Other than that, I agree with Ivan's suggestions and your latest
reactions. Tahoe would indeed be a good system to target. Please don't
respond to this message. Write Tahoe explanations instead ;).
Capitalize on Ivan's generous offer while it lasts!

Various other people have started various capability-oriented book
projects. I'll take this opportunity to encourage them to make revive
these projects and bring them to fruition.
