[cap-talk] ACLs--who needs them?

The need for ACLs seems to be driven from the folder/file/directory/
filesystem idea. If we think about folders and files in the real
world, they are normally protected by keys and passwords (capabilities
as data). The issue is with providing access to executables, which I
wonder why they are stored in files at all...they don't seem like file
things. The file system provides a namespace for executables, but so
do menus and web pages.
I believe that Waterken server uses separate URIs for reading and
writing blogs. Does writing a capability based GUI merely mean that
we need to provide separate view for each capability?
Is each view kind of like an ACL in some way?
