Hmmm.  Doesn't the above topic seem more relevant to the
cap-talk list than to the cap-conf list?  I'm responding
on cap-talk.

The above seems to present quite a rosy picture.  When you
say "without traveling outside the country", is the
country you refer to Italy?  How much 'capability' activity
is there in Italy?

I was delighted to see some 15 or so people at the Friday
morning capability discussion group at Hewlett Packard
last Friday (Feb. 22), but even such a slightly expanded
group - just in Silicon Valley - still seems to me a
rather small collection if what you are looking for is
to have "capability system" discussions take their place
as a respected aspect of computer system discussions in
general, e.g. perhaps as measured by something like the
ACM Special Interest Groups.  SigCap still seems to me
a rather long ways away at this point ;-).  Of course I'd
be delighted if I was wrong about that.  If we can get
something like this proposed "Capability Systems Workshop"
to happen then we might be vectoring in that direction,
but with still a very long way to go I'm afraid.
