Sigh, we have a real need for some better network access control on  
our project.  Oracle foiled us by not allowing read of user-defined  
objects through a database link.  Now we are going to have to copy  
data, marshall through database procedures, or provide more access.  I  
only need read access, but others may not be so lucky.
