Yes, my impression from this discussion is that authority bearing URLs 
have to be specially handled by a browser runtime, probably written in 
JS or Flash, which never directly exposes these URLs to the user to 
prevent accidental copying.

Links in the page would either be entirely JS-driven, and would 
designate "safe" root or introduction URLs for copying purposes.
