I have a problem with the naked word "trust" in this discussion.
I trust Verisign to apply some degree of diligence to keeping my
credit card account from being misused due in an electronic
commerce transaction. I also trust the various national security
organizations around the world to provide the same assurance, if
only to avoid reveling their powers and methods. The word
"trust" without the following to ... doesn't mean much.
