Having proved themselves miserably incompetent as engineers and designers, the
W3C people have finally figured out where they can really excel: going to
standards meetings.


I think I wasn't paying close enough attention at some point in the proceedings
here. Can someone explain to me why we are having anything to do with the whole
XML cargo cult in the first place?

Is there any actual technical benefit from touching this tarbaby or is it being
done for marketing/positioning purposes?
