In light of recent changes in the U.S. legal climate, both the last E 0.8.4
release and the new interim E 0.8.7 release are now available from the
US-domestic download pages of http://www.erights.org . I will be putting a
mirror of this porting of the site back at cypherpunks.to.

Why is E 0.8.7 interim? Two reasons.

1) Although it has a new installer that's a great improvement for Windows
(thanks in part to Mark Shepard!), at the moment the price is that we no
longer build or install under Unix/Linux. We expect this to be fixed
shortly, and the resulting release will be 0.8.8.

2) Marc Stiegler has identified a new terrible performance bug in the
proxy-comm system. Until this is fixed, this E is unusable for some
distributed applications. This will be fixed in 0.8.9, at which time we
will stop distributing or supporting 0.8.4.

If either of these problems is a show stopper for you, continue using E
0.8.4 for now. However, read http://www.erights.org/download/which.html first.

There have been many changes since 0.8.4. Release notes to follow. Good
night.

         Cheers,
