It looks like Apple is claiming a Java 1.3 development environment for Mac
OS X. See:
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/ReleaseNotes/JavaGMWebReleaseNotes.html
http://developer.apple.com/java/
These press releases look a lot more promising than what can be found at
the FreeBSD site:
http://www.freebsd.org/java/
Are these separate development efforts? If so, has anyone used the Mac OS X
Java? Does it actually work? Can you run E? Can you keep a servlet engine
running for any length of time?
If Mac OS X actually has a working Java 1.3 and a decent browser (they
claim IE5), I would be very tempted to switch platforms.
