On issues of security, sound bytes are insufficient. I agree completely with
the need to provide an answer that a lay person can read. In this instance I
think it is important to convey the need and rationale for skepticism.

Therefore, where it is appropriate in the FAQ, I suggest that we give the
simple answer first (I like the one MarcS proposes) and then have a "More
Details:" header, and then the deeper answer. If you can find a way to make
it less academic, please feel free. :-)

Experience with the EROS FAQ suggests that the audience for FAQs is widely
varied.
