     I think (hope) that zooko's comment was tongue-in-cheek.  The
computer publishing world is in a sad state indeed.  The dog-killing
tomes are popular because they have wider spines, which means you get
more shelf advertising space.  Also, too many morons judge a book by
its weight (I hate to say it, but that trend has been going on for
decades, so somebody must be providing po$itive feedback to the
publishers).  Thank god for O'Reilly...
