Given the number and variety of FLOSS version control projects out 
there, it seems highly likely to me that we can find one that meets 
everyone's needs.

+1 for free / libre / open source software.

And while I'm at it:

+1 darcs (it seems cool from what I've read, but I haven't used it yet)
