Using CC-mode was never meant to be more than a stopgap -- I left a
comment in the code hoping someone with more ELisp experience would
fix it up. You may well have found a better starting point. As with
http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/wiki/JavaScriptMode, "I think Karl is
right in defining javascript-mode as its own top-level
mode. JavaScript really has not much to do with Java, aside from some
common ancestry with C."
