L3 paper worth reading

Jonathan and Bill, if you haven't seen it already,
there's an interesting L3 paper in the IWOOOS '93 proceedings
that I'd like to get your reactions on if you have the chance.
It's the first paper: "A Persistent System in Real Use:
Experiences of the First 13 Years".  In particular I'm
interested in hearing your reactions to the way L3 implements
IPC naming and security (the "clans and chiefs" concept) and
persistence of kernel data.
