Nine months ago I had lost my data because my hd (a Quantum Viking 3.5
Series of 4.3 GB)
had crashed (after only five months of usage). Later I discovered by an
internet search that
Quantum had delivered lots of HDs with the same defect (low MTTF ?).
I've put apart the Quantum hd and buyed an IBM :-)
Fortunately I had previously made a backup on my ZIP drive, so it was
possible to recover
the 95% of my data.
