While a KeyKOS directory is not hierarchical, one could store a capability
to a directory under a name in a conceptual parent directory. It's just that
the directory itself didn't know about this usage.

Norm Hardy and I had a discussion a couple of years ago in which we ended up
deciding that a hierarchical directory would be a useful thing to have.
