MarcS & I just chatted with Secure EChat! Mark S. Miller (markm@caplet.com)

A while ago, Marc Stiegler wrote a secure point-to-point chat program in E in a tiny amount of code. Till now, it required an unreasonable-for-consumers degree of configuring because of some of the IP issues this discussion has done so much to clarify. Thanks!

Well, we just connected and chatted, both of us via dynamic-IP ISPs, with no VLSs in sight, and despite both of us also having Ethernet cards associated with IP addresses, and with neither of us providing any configuration info. It just worked.

Btw, it wasn't actually secure because we were using daffE (draft 0.8x). But none of the issue involved interact with any of the differences between daffE and E. I hope to have a 0.8x posted sometime tomorrow, and the new VLS the following week.

MarcS will be posting the open-sources to EChat at his site.
