Oops. I didn't mean subversive in the sense of theology. I meant subversive in the sense that the description was going to a lot of work to avoid using mechanisms that were actually the right thing to use.
In the present discussion, it was all of the talk of how to force stabilization on the file system metadata when this was actually an undesirable thing to achieve.
