On my 486 'init.hd' does not take too long. maybe I am too patient? :-) Or to uneducated to change the volmap file :-(

I will do. If nothing else I belive that kind of thing should be done by 2 independent
people.
The reason I did perf/ instead was that func/ was less stable.
