Actually my name is Anthony :)

I haven't had much time to study EROS during this week, however I deleted everything today and retried with the following results:

  1. untar eros-base.tgz, eros-build.tgz and eros-xenv.tgz.
  2. export EROS_ARCH, EROS_CONFIG, EROS_HOSTENV, EROS_ROOT and EROS_XENV.
  3. cd $EROS_ROOT/src/xenv and make install. (I forgot this in my last summary)
  4. modifed line 75 of base/cross/lib/erosimg/ExecImageElf.cxx
  5. cd $EROS_ROOT/src and make install. There was no need to modify the makevars.mk file this time.

This compiled without any problems.

6. make update and make install once more.

It again compiled without any problems so the current cvs code seems to be OK.

I didn't succeed in making eros-doc.tgz with eros-netpbm.tgz, however the following procedure works:

  1. Install the netpbm, netpbm-nonfree and transfig debian packages.
  2. export NETPBMDIR="/usr/bin/"
  3. untar eros-doc.tgz
  4. cd to $EROS_ROOT/src and make -k install

It compiled without any problems so I'm afraid I can't duplicate the problems that you had. What happens if you start from scratch and compile only the base, build and xenv parts? Do any problems occur?

Best regards,

Anthony Mulcahy
